"Beast Wars Transformers" Icebird Toy Review
Icebird is the leader of the group of "Mutant" Beast Wars toys to be released in the 2000 line. This concept is explained above, but adds a nice link between the Beast Wars and Beast Machines toy universes. Beast Machines involves Megatron beginning his new assault on the Transformers by using a anti-transformation virus, and the virus that affects the Mutant Beast Wars appears to be a predecessor to that virus.
"Beast Machines" Thrust Toy Review
Thrust is one of the figures in the second assortment of Beast Machines deluxe toys. Thrust shows a movement towards toys that look more like their show counterparts, and keeps with the general idea of Beast Machines toys retaining "personality" in both robot and alternate modes.
Retro Reviews: More "Beast Machines" Toy Reviews Restored
The restoration of retro reviews continues! This time you can check out my updated reviews for Beast Machines Scavenger and Silverbolt. Both reviews feature updated thoughts and new images.
"Beast Machines" Silverbolt Toy Review
Silverbolt returns to the battle as a basic Maximal. This toy is a huge departure from the original Silverbolt Fuzor toy and the results aren't as great as one may think.
"Beast Machines" Scavenger Toy Review
Scavenger is the closest thing the Vehicons currently have to a construction vehicle. But rather than being a creator of grand structures or machines, Scavenger is an agent of destruction! Originally, Scavenger was to be known as Destructicon, a play on the name of the original group of Decepticon construction vehicles: the Constructicons. It is interesting to note that Scavenger was the name of one of the original Constructicons as well.
"Beast Machines" Night Viper Toy Review
Night Viper is one of the mid-2000 basic Beast Machines Transformers releases. Rather than another four legged (or six legged) critter, Night Viper adds a snake into the Maximal mix. Many speculated that the Japanese Beast Wars Neo toy Cohrada would be repainted and released as part of Beast Machines, but fans were pleasantly surprised to see that Night Viper is a whole new mold.
"Beast Wars Transformers" Toy Review Index
In 1996 Kenner made a bold and radical change to the Transformers toy line. Gone were Autobots and Decepticons. In their place were their descendents: the Maximals and Predacons! Featuring techno-organic beast modes and highly stylized robot modes, Beast Wars Transformers was unlike anything fans had seen before. While controversial at the time, the series has gone on to be recognized as the line that revitalized the Transformers brand.
"Beast Machines" Mirage Toy Review
Mirage is one of the new constructs serving as an experiment in Vehicon technology. Bringing a fast, sleek ground vehicle to the ranks of the Vehicons, Mirage is a nice basic level toy, and a neat addition to any Transformers collection.
